The international expansion of Sacyr's business, which until relatively recently was concentrated in the Spanish domestic market, is now an absolute imperative.
The construction business is currently in the process of rebalancing its operations between the home market and international markets. International revenue represents 63% of Sacyr Construcción's total sales and projects undertaken in foreign countries account for 81% of the construction order book.
The concessions business is key to the Group's robustness and provides a solid foundation for its activities, enabling Sacyr to look to the future with peace of mind. At the close of 2013, the total revenue of Sacyr Concesiones (construction and concessions under operation) had increased by around 9%.
Now established as a growth business area, the four units that combine to form Valoriza are Sacyr's Industrial, Water, Environment and Multi-services businesses. The order book has grown in the last twelve months to over €11 billion, with 69% earned in the domestic market.
The Group's property management subsidiary retains its leadership in the sector due to the quality of its assets and their excellent yields. The Group has around 1.4 million square meters in operation with occupancy rates close to 100%.
